Dr Ozan Ozerk is a medical doctor turned serial fintech entrepreneur. He earned his medical degree from the University of Oslo in 2008 and practised as an emergency room physician. His entrepreneurial journey began in 2005 with the co-founding of Biip.no, a Norwegian social media platform that achieved significant success before its acquisition by Egmont and Nettavisen in 2008.
Transitioning to fintech in the 2010s, Dr Ozerk founded several fintech companies, including European Merchant Bank (EMBank) in Lithuania in 2018, obtaining a European Central Bank license to offer accessible banking services to fintechs globally and to SMEs in Lithuania. His other ventures include OpenPayd, a London-based Banking-as-a-Service provider, and Ozan SuperApp, a full-stack payment solutions provider. Dr. Özerk's ventures reflect his commitment to democratising finance and fostering innovation in the financial technology sector.
